Flooring Services We Offer

Common Flooring Choices Brandi Carpet Provides

Carpet
Carpet both for the home and all commercial business applications. Carpet is very appealing to look at, easy on your body (especially our feet!), and carpet flooring is quite affordable. Wall to wall carpeting most often is the foundation for your home or office interior decor so, choose wisely. Take into consideration what the room is to be most used for and write this down. It is really best to discuss this with your carpet store because we can provide you with more options this way. Carpet for the business or the homeowner is often the best option for true comfort and value. At Brandi Carpet we provide homeowners and commercial business owners with the highest quality carpeting available at or below discount prices because we purchase our Carpets Directly From All Major Manufactures. We are a private family owned business that has been providing the Greater Phoenix Area with Quality Carpeting choices for over 40 years. We also can make choosing a carpet even easier by bringing our quality carpeting showroom directly to your home or office.

Carpet Padding

Choosing the right padding for your new carpet installation is important. Be sure to check the carpet manufacturer’s requirements for thickness and density. The general rule of thumb for most residential carpet flooring installations is to choose a cushion no more than 1/2 of an inch thick and no less than 1/4 of an inch with at least a 5.5 pounds per cubic feet density. If the installation is a low profile carpet, such as a berber carpet, you will want to choose a pad that is no more than 3/8 of an inch thick with 7-8 pounds density.
The type and thickness of carpet padding you need will vary depending on traffic levels and carpet patterns and styles. Bedrooms, lounge areas, dens, and other rooms with light to moderate foot traffic can often use a thicker and softer cushion, providing a feel of additional comfort. Heavy traffic areas such as living rooms, family rooms, hallways, stairs may require a thinner, much firmer pad.
The wrong carpet padding can negatively affect your carpet flooring in a variety of ways including: wrinkling and buckling, separation of the carpet at the seams and even a breakdown of the carpet materials structure. The wrong carpet padding may even void the carpet manufacturer’s warranties so always check with the dealer.

A Quick Thought Guide Concerning Carpet Padding
Residential cut pile, cut- loop, or high-level loop carpet flooring requires a more resilient, firmer pad with a thickness of 7/16 inch of an inch and no less than 1/4 of an inch with 6 pounds per cubic feet density. Types of carpet pads that may be used are various polyurethane foams, including the most common bonded foam product often referred to as “rebond,” fiber, or at times rubber.
Berber carpets, or thinner looped low profile carpets, or cut pile carpet that is made with large, wide loops, will require a stable, low-flexing, cushion foundation. A thicker, softer cushion is not acceptable with these carpets. Cushion thickness should not exceed 3/8 of an inch for these type flooring products.

Hardwood Flooring
There are two specific types of hardwood flooring available, SOLID hardwood and ENGINEERED wood flooring:
Solid wood flooring is precisely that: One plank or strip of real wood cut from one piece of timber and designed specifically for flooring use. The thickness of solid wood flooring most often will be from ¾” to 5/16”. (Although reclaimed wood floors can often be much thicker and wider) Hardwood flooring can be installed at ground level or above. As I see it the primary advantage to solid wood flooring is that it will last longer than carpet and it can be finished again and again. So that unlike tile floors, you could actually change the entire appearance and atmosphere of any room by refinishing your wood floor and using a different stain option.

Engineered wood floors are all natural woods that are manufactured using several layers of different wood products. The grain of each layer runs in opposite directions, making this a very stable flooring product. This type of wood flooring will expand and contract less than solid wood flooring due to changes in humidity and temperature. And with Arizona’s monsoon seasons this may be something for you to speak to us about. The top layer of engineered wood flooring consists of high-quality wood veneer. Engineered wood flooring can be installed below ground level or above. Most of these floors can be finished one or more times but, not like solid wood floors.

Tile
There are many types of tiles used for residential and commercial floors:
Ceramic tile is the most widely used tile in offices, stores and homes. We have provided tile flooring, both sales and installations since 1971.

Porcelain tile is a ceramic tile that is often used in areas where water is a concern.

Natural Stone Tile

There are several types of natural stone tiles used for flooring. These are: Marble, Granite, Travertine, Slate, and Sandstone. Each type of stone tile has it’s own unique set of properties allowing for a variety of flooring applications both indoor and outdoor. As with all flooring it may be best to determine what the room is to be used for and discuss this with us and we will be able to give you answers as to what each type of tile will provide for your floors.

Laminate Flooring
Lamination is a process of fusing together different materials then sealing them. Laminate flooring comes with a wide selection of choices. Wood, stone and tile are the most popular uses for laminate floors. Nearly every type of grain texture and color of wood or of natural looking stone or tile has been produced and is available. Smooth, Embossed, Textured, Embossed in Registration, or Distressed/Hand scraped. With the large choice of laminate flooring available you’re certain to discover something just right for your flooring needs.
